Savoy Cabbage


Savoy cabbage is considered very versatile for cooking. It is distinguished by its heavily textured, crinkled leaves. Leaves range in color from dark green to pale yellow and white. Outer leaves are tougher and designed to protect the inside of the plant. Savoy cabbage has a mild, grassy and sweet flavor.

Savoy cabbage’s best-known health benefit is its cancer-fighting glucosinolates. Glucosinolates are present in a lot of other vegetables, but savoy cabbage has the highest content. Another unique characteristic of savoy cabbage is that it can benefit people who suffer from asthma. Savoy cabbage contains high amounts of folate, which assists with this.


Temperature:Savoy cabbage is best stored between the temperatures of 32 and 35 degrees.
